"Design for the Circular Economy" Series

"Design for the Circular Economy" Series

Design for the Circular Economy, A new series on MaterialDriven
March 6rd– April 3rd, 2017

Through art, design, fashion, and manufacturing, this diverse selection of designers and makers interfaces with ‘waste-streams,' reorients manufacturing processes and byproducts and represents the ethos of the Circular Economy in their work. Spanning multiple geographic locations, their understanding of Circular Economy concepts and their physical output varies–giving you–our readers a broad spectrum perspective of how design can become an active contributor to the Circular Economy.

In almost all cases, there is an intent to design and create not just for the sake of making, but as a ‘service’ to the community. The projects discussed in these series of articles are marked by their contribution to changing attitudes in communities and markets, supporting design education, and also creating open source resources available for the industry to implement.

Each week, two designers and organizations from the selection seen above will be featured through in-depth articles and interviews. Stay tuned for the entire series, and follow our newsletter for some in-depth insights into the making of this series!
